In 2002, with the organizational foundation for launching our over- seas strategy firmly in place, we established the subsidiary SAKURAI VIETNAM in the premier Southeast Asian city of Hanoi. This pro- duction center manufactures a diverse array of products-including motorcycle and automobile parts-and thus enables us to broadly pur- sue business opportunities overseas. The center is fully outfitted with an M/C line, in-house equipment, and other facilities that serve its mission of quickly responding to the needs of customers not only in Japan but across the globe. As a new challenge, we are working to localize the entire production process-from material procurement to machining-in Vietnam, with the goal of supplying SAKURAI VIETNAM products to markets throughout the world.
