It all started as a home-based business by Ms. Virgie Malipol in 1989. She used to bake wedding cakes, birthday cakes, breads and special ensaymada. In the early 90’s, she started baking goodies for the people of Tagaytay – Buco Pie, Espasol, Boat Tarts and Candies that she used to supply for the retreat houses of the City. Chela, Ms. Virgie’s daughter, also sells Buco Pie to her friends. They suggested creating a single serving, bite-size version of the pie to make it easier to take. It was the birth of Amira’s Buco Tart. These tarts were being sampled to retreat houses and the word of the satisfied mouth comes along. This paved the way for the Amira’s Buco Tart to solely own the supply of snacks for the guests of retreat houses of Tagaytay City.

Their first store was along the corner of SVD Road when it is not feasible for their house to be a one-stop processing, marketing and sales office. Their first store, which was established in 2003, was made famous as a pasalubong stopover of the city. It was 2010 that Amira’s Buco Tart introduced their different set of flavours that entices every taste buds of the tart-lovers. The perseverance of Ms. Virgie and her family made these buco tarts and along with other specialty products of Amira’s to be on the limelight as one of Tagaytay’s tourist flavour attraction.
