Andavar Metal was founded by T.Gopal Chettiar in 1987. Based in a strategic place Sungai Besi which is very near to the Kuala Lumpur city centre. Gopal Chettiar, with his experience in metal trading for the past 50 years, formed a Metal Trading Company in Penang by the name of Syarikat Shakti Murugan in 1972. This company is now successfully managed by his sons. In 1980, together with three other partners he formed another Metal Company in Kuala Lumpur. Later in 1987, he moved out of that company and formed his third company Andavar Metal which later, his son Shankar and himself successfully upgraded and formed Andavar Metal Industry Sdn Bhd in 2006.
