Balbin’s Furniture & Enterprises (formerly Balbin’s Furniture) was founded by Forester Romeo M. Balbin and Agriculturist Natividad P. Balbin in 1986 in Dolores, Abra. The couple pioneered the manufacturing of folding Bamboo Lounge Chairs, folding tables and chairs, bamboo placemats and other bamboo-based products. Between 1991 and 1992 when Don Mariano Bridge collapsed, the firm transferred to transferred to Abra’s capital, Bangued where they began expanding the business.

They started joining National and International Trade Fairs as they deliver high quality products. The enterprise gained outstanding reputation in the furniture and handicraft business, which paved the way for them to work with institutional buyers such as Shoemart, Landmark, Crossings, Balikbayan Handicraft, Regalong Pambahay and other department stores in Davao, Mandaue and Boracay. Balbin’s also showcased their products internationally, in the USA, Canada and Italy. The firm produces wood dining sets, sala sets, beds, cabinets, door, door jambs, office tables and narra planks for flooring. They also produce bamboo, reeds and hapao products like serving trays, placemats, hot pads and more. At present, the firm has 19 in-house skilled laborers distributed in the carpentry.
