The precursor of Khanh Hoa Seafood Export Joint Stock Company (KHASPEXCO) is a state-owned enterprise specializing in catching and harvesting aquatic products in Phu Khanh. After the Liberation of South Vietnam, under a great potential of domestic fishery, the People’s Committee of Phu Khanh Province has restored the fishery and set up “Phu Khanh Fishing State Enterprise” on May 14th 1977. This is an economic unit specializing in catching and harvesting aquatic products under Phu Khanh Seafood Company, later Khanh Hoa Department of Fisheries (now Khanh Hoa Department of Agriculture and Rural Development).

In July 1989, Phu Khanh province was split into two provinces: Phu Yen and Khanh Hoa and Phu Khanh Fishing State Enterprise was also split into two parts: half of the property and workers are in Phu Yen and the other half in Khanh Hoa province which was renamed: Khanh Hoa Fisheries Exploitation and Service Enterprise under the Decision No. 108-QD / UB dated July 1st, 1989 of the Chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee. At this time, the enterprise has not only catching aquatic products, but also built a seafood processing factory and gradually shifted its production and business structure to processing and exporting aquatic products and starting a factory at No. 10 Vo Thi Sau Street, Nha Trang City.

In June 2010, the enterprise was transferred to Khanh Hoa Fisheries Export Single-Member Limited Liability Company under the Decision No. 1614 / QD-UBND dated June 23rd, 2010 of the People’s Committee of Khanh Hoa Province, which is 100% chartered capital held by the State. On 1st December 2015, the company was changed to Khanh Hoa Seafood Joint Stock Company. The company operates as a joint stock company under the Business Registration Certificate No. 4200235327 dated December 01st 2015 at the Registration Office of Khanh Hoa Department of Planning and Investment. The chartered capital is VND 14,760,000,000.
