Saigon Sundries Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company (Transaction name: TOCONTAP SAIGON JSC), which originally was a state-owned company under Ministry of Trade (currently Ministry of Industry and Trade), was established in 1956 with its former name of Vietnam Sundries Import Export Company. The company was privatized in April 2005 in the spirit of Decision No.1801/QĐ-BTM on 03 December 2004 issued by Ministry of Trade (currently Ministry of Industry and Trade) on transforming Ho Chi Minh City Sundries Import Export Company into Saigon Sundries Import Export Joint Stock Company. In implementing the Resolution dated 10 April 2009 of Annual General Shareholder Meeting in 2009, the company has been officially re-named Saigon Sundries Investment and Trading Joint Stock Company (Transaction name: TOCONTAP SAIGON JSC) since 01 June 2009.
