Decision No. 69/2004/QĐ-TTg dated April 28, 2004 by the Prime Minister and Decision No. 172/2004/QĐ-UB dated July 15, 2004 by the HCM City People’s Committee approved the establishment of Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation, which operates on a pilot basis under the parent company – subsidiary model. In 2010, the corporation was transformed into Saigon Transportation Mechanical Corporation – Single-Member Limited Liability under Decision No. 2988/QĐ-UB dated July 7, 2010 by the HCM City People’s Committee.

SAMCO operates in various business fields, each of which plays an important role in the city’s socio-economic development and gathers various resources, supportive power, associative cooperation in multiple fields. In addition, with manufacturing mechanical engineering as its leading-edge industry, the SAMCO Corporation is designated as one of the four corporations undertaking a key task of developing Vietnam’s automotive industry.
